Soul Mate Synastry Case Study PART 3 (Composite chart)

We have seen all the double whammies from western and Vedic perspectives in the last two posts. Now, here are the details of composite chart aspects as well as composite to natal comparisons.
1)      Composite AC at sidereal Cancer 27 degrees and Composite IC at Libra 21 degrees
2)      Sun trine moon
3)      Moon near 7th cusp
4)      Sun near 4th cusp
5)      Pluto, Venus, Mars, Uranus forming planetary Stellium in 3rd house.
6)      Ceres, Psyche, Eros, Juno and Chiron forming asteroid Stellium in composite 9th house (opposite above 3rd house)
7)      The above opposition is across Pisces and Virgo lorded by his and her Atmarkarak (Also hers and his lagna drekana lord) planets Jupiter and Mercury
8)      Saturn/Venus, Saturn/Mars and Saturn/Uranus mid points are all conjunct composite AC
9)      Pluto square Neptune and mercury
10)  Neptune conjunct mercury
11)  North node conjunct Jupiter
12)  Venus, mars, Uranus stellium square Jupiter on one side and trine Saturn on the other side
13)  Solstice vertex conjunct descendant
14)   The generationally conjunct natal Isis is also conjunct composite ascendant.
15)  Chiron opposite planetary stellium of venus/mars/Uranus
16)  The composite chart has a prominent pattern involving Chiron. There are three oppositions going out from Chiron to the 3rd house stellium. These oppositions are linked to 3 half-rectangles on one side and 3 half-squares on the other side. The harmonious half-rectangles are held together by Saturn while the stressful half-squares are held together by Jupiter. This pattern in the composite resonates a similar pattern formed in Female natal chart.
17)  The strongest feature of the composite chart is the grand trine between Saturn (11th house) – Descendant (7th cusp) – Venus/mars/Uranus conjunction (3rd house). There are in fact three grand trines, if each planet in the 3rd house stellium were to be counted separately. In Vedic astrology 3-7-11 houses are known as kama trikona (relationship triangle) indicating spousal relationships. With the Composite Ascendant included, this grand trine becomes a kite with the head of the kite on the ascendant. In a kite formation this is the point that drives the whole configuration and the composite ascendant denotes the core identity of the relationship.

1)      Composite Sun conjunct natal AC of Male (M)
2)      Composite IC conjunct natal AC of Male and DC of female (F).

Soul Mate synastry case study PART 2 (Vedic Perspectives)

Continuing from last post, here are the vedic astrology synastry considerations for the two charts of the case under study. Note that again ALL 85 vedic synastry aspects listed here are either double whammies or reciprocated between charts.

1)      The two lagnas (Libra and Aries) are 7th from each other. Also the lagna decanate (derkana) is 7th from other’s lagna deconate, both being in the 3rd deconate of opposing signs. Her deconate ruled by Jupiter and his deconate ruled by Mercury.
2)      Lagna deconate lord is other’s Aatmakaarak (AK) in both cases.
3)      Their common AC-DC axis is his Navamsa AC-DC axis (Aries-Libra), while their common lagna deconate axis (Sagittarius-Mercury) is her Navamsa AC-DC axis.
4)      Hora Lagna (HL) lord is other’s Aatmakaarak planet in both cases.
5)      Ghati Lagna (GL) lord is other’s 7th lord in both cases.
6)      Moon lagna lord is other’s 7th lord in both cases.
7)      In both cases, lagna lord, GL lord and the moon lord are the same planet.
8)      Darakarak (DK) Planet is moon for the male and Sun for the female. They are trine each other in Synastry (in Sun’s asterisms).
9)      Also his DK moon is conjunct her AC and her DK Sun conjunct his DC by solstice
10)  His Uppada lagna Sagittarius is 7th from her darapada Gemini. Sagittarius ruler Jupiter is his aatmakarak planet while Gemini ruler Mercury is her Aatmakarak planet. Similarly, His Darapada Capricorn same (conjunct) as her Uppada lagna.
11)  Venus in a Male chart & Jupiter in a Female chart are said to indicate spouse per Vedic astrology. They are in both Rahu’s asterisms trining each other. They are also conjunct other’s descendant (wide orb) and vertex respectively. Some theories say that second and subsequent marriages of a woman are indicated by Saturn in her chart. Her Saturn trines his Venus as well as his Ascendant. Her Jupiter and her Saturn form a grand trine borrowing his Venus and his Ascendant.
12)  Her D1 chart ruler Mars is conjunct his Navamsa Ascendant Aries in Navamsa synastry. While his D1 Chart ruler Venus is conjunct her Navamsa chart ruler Jupiter in Navamsa synastry.
13)  D1 chart ruler in Navamsa is in a sign owned by Navamsa chart ruler of other person, both ways.

15)  His D1 descendant ruler Mars is conjunct her Navamsa AC while her D1 descendant ruler Venus is conjunct his Navamsa DC.
16)  His Venus completes her air grand trine. Her Venus completes his fire grand trine. When superimposed these two grand trines create a seal of Solomon (perfect hexagon) in mid degrees (15-23) of fire and air signs.  The points of the hexagon hit his natal AC, her natal AC,  his natal Vertex and their  composite Sun/moon mp
17)  Running Bukthi lord (Saturn for both) is Darakarak Navamsa Lord for both.  Saturn is also his Darapada lord and her Uppada lord.  Further, in the Navamsa synastry, her Saturn in Taurus is opposite his Saturn in Scorpio. Also his Navamsa Saturn conjuncts her D1 Moon sign and her Navamsa Saturn conjuncts his D1 moon sign. Note that both people’s moon signs are co-ruled by their chart rulers. i.e. Mars for F and Venus for M. Navamsa Saturn is in the sign of other’s D1 ghati lagna.
18)  Navamsa Saturn opposition is close to her D1 AC-DC axis which is also his D1 darkarak-atmakarak axis
19)  Her Navamsa moon tightly conjunct his natal sun. His Navamsa Sun conjuncts her natal moon by solstice as well as squares.
20)  Navamsa suns are tightly conjunct in Aquarius in Navamsa synastry.

Soul mate synastry case study PART 1

What does a strong Soulmate/ Karmic/ Destined synastry chart look like? This is a question looming in the minds of most astrologers researching synastry. When we delve in to various sources of information seeking answers to this question, we often find piece-meal answers centered on one or few aspects across various articles, books or blogs. The astrologer is then faced with the daunting task of sorting them, ranking them based on significance level and then applying them to the set of charts under study. Not easy!

And then of course we have to deal with the dichotomy of western vs vedic astrology camps. Different methods for interpretation and different zodiacs involved!

So what do we do? Argue in fora? Not good! A better way might be to progressively analyse and discuss real life synastry case studies charts in depth, from all perspectives and preferably using both western and vedic systems.

For starters, here are the chart details of a man and woman born 4 years apart. They met when they were both around the age of 40.
Note: Sidereal zodiac has been used (i.e. Those of you using tropical zodiac, should add 23-24 degrees to all angle/planet positions) The sidereal sign, degree, asterism (Vedic nakshatra) and its quarter are as below.

Now to the synastry. Common sense tells us that a good partnership or a connection between two people should have the right balance of 'contrasting complementarities' as well as 'synergizing similarities'. The two people should be different enough to be attracted to each other and similar enough to stay with each other. So how do these possibilities show up in soulmate synastry? A big clue is when individual charts mirror each other and synastry aspects reciprocate between each other, be it soft or hard aspects. We are talking double aspects or double whammies!

Using the case data given above, lets first list out all the double whammy aspects sticking to orbs less than 5 degrees as a thumb rule (maybe go upto 8 for luminaries and/or key angles). Wider orbs of more than 8 degrees but less than 11 are marked with an asterik. Please note that vertex and nodes have been referred to as axes or angles at times though not considered to be key angles as in the case of AC-DC and MC-IC.

This is the first post in this case study series. Next posts containing part 2 and 3 of this series will carry further analyses into composite charts, progressed charts, vedic aspects (Including Navamsa charts, Darakarak-Atmakarak planet comparisons etc), fixed stars, family aspects etc. Stay tuned.

So, here is the vast list of synastry contacts. ALL of the 70 aspects listed below are double whammies!
